Guild Wars 2 PVP Builds

Assume a spectral form and gain new skills, turning your life force into health. Steal So just to add some context I return to the game one month ago and I mostly play thief and rev, tried other class but always comeback to this two.

I just started sPvP so maybe sometimes I hit that scrapper like a dumb without caring about what skill he used. I was thinking if I'm a bad power rev, why not try a tanky rev similar to this scrapper. The objective is to be able to tank to avoid enemy from capturing point in out numbered situation. But still have some damage to down at least one person and then wait for your mate to help you finish them after they take other point. Does anyone tried a similar build.

Maybe it's not possible or it's boring to play but this scrapper seems to have fun fighting me even if unfortunately he lose because his team was bad and didn't cap other point while he was keeping members of our team busy almost all the time. Yeah i fough a similar engi in spvp who was able to easily 3v1. Just dancing around the cap with outrageous amounts of boons all the time. We lacked a scourge in team which can take care of that.

Try it out. If you are successful to tank like those engi then do tell. But again 1 low skill scourge can outplay a medium skilled vague term rev.

I am still learning how to deal with those. They're entirely possible, my main Herald build is a pretty tanky one that can usually at least hold a point 1v1 or 1v2.

GW2 Tournament Roles, Builds & Comps

To be honest it seems to me that the lack of condi cleans force you to use glint. Because you can take the first tick of conditions damage and when you are low hp you use glint heal to full life with other ticks.

But for the second set I have no clue. I don't expect it to be meta but I hope I can manage to find something viable at least at low level sPvP. It will be sad to leave my rev just because nothing is meta in sPvP. And I always come back to my thief or rev when I try other class. But it wont be enough like you said. Glint heal is the only bearthing space for the duration its up. I did some test in normal PvP and I'm really struggling. But I don't master the energy system and I'm not use to play with staff.

But just for information I went with this. Retribution Invocation Herald Sometimes I feel I can survive but to many times I run out of energy. It'd only work if you're against pure Power teams And even then there's classes that would out sustain you easily.

I'd lose Jalis and then take Glint. At least with Glint you could pump out boons for your team fights and Chaotic Release rezes Not to mention access to Infused Light. Jalis only seems good on paper--even playing Power Shiro, I've never had any trouble dropping a Jalis rev because they can't do damage while sustaining, and they can't sustain while doing damage.

Pulsing Protection will easily out sustain trying to keep up RotGD in any situation that doesn't involve 2 scourges corrupt spamming But even then, if they have two scourges and you're trying to bunker a point as rev, you're not going to be having a good time anyways.

Scrapper has barrier built into it's skills and reliable damage reduction. Rev defense skills have painful cast times for no reason; staff 4 cleanses 2 condis but you will probably just die mid cast, same with dwarf heal and especially dwarf elite. They also take energy which means you can't kill things while you're trying not to die.I am here to introduce you to a project I have been working on for quite some time now.

I previously shared this on reddit, and only just remembered that sharing on these forums would be a good idea. The past weeks we've had some fantastic events in the PvP community. From my perspective I think a lot of people see just flashes of colour and players running around in circles - and that's fine. That's the point of this project.

Klon settings

I hope those of you who are interested, give it a look and maybe learn something! The main goal for the initial release was some 'newb' friendly guides and introductions to PvP, so it may not be for everyone - and that's fine.

I hope it doesn't put you off. In the near future there will be more high level explanations. But for now, that has to wait. I think I did quite well with it, but you guys can be the judge of that.

Holosmith META Build GW2 PvP

Please leave feedback. Additionally we have all the updated meta builds - accurate as of Sunday's mAT. So that's pretty hype, we've got some cool new builds with a new, more mobile Firebrand build coming in from Cookie. As well as a bit less way less exciting build in the form of Chronomancer, so knock yourselves out. The builds themselves are based around Tournament meta - the reality is, that playing a meta build and understanding the synergies that come alongside it is the best way to improve in this gamemode.

We also have a stream tab. I know having seen comments here in the past that many players don't find GW2 streams appealing, and that's fair. I would however say you've got some of the best people in the GW2 community streaming PvP and I don't know anyone else who streams who wouldn't mind answering questions you might have about PvP. It's also a fantastic learning resource. GW2Armory for the tooltips mightyteapot cause I nicked some of his css all the lads that helped me proof read.

Please have option to not receive bloodstone dusts, empyreal fragments, dragonite etc. The website looks good in terms of aesthetics, but it has a few flaws. I do like the idea. The more stuff we have to work with, the better. However, It needs more information when it comes to each build if it ever wants to top rival websites.

gw2 spvp builds

It also needs to offer different builds for each specialization. Ex: Not everyone wants to run Support as a Guardian. I would like to smack them. It's a very good start but it does need more work.

Especially the guides section is very good but more work is needed in the builds section. There should be an explanation on each build how it works, and how it synergizes. I know these are things you need to work on yourself but they should give a starting point of some kind. Like for example druid and spellbreaker, they are both sidenode duelists but they do things very differently.Obviously you can switch out classes and builds, but having them fill similar roles is a good idea.

The Bunker stays at mid point having the ability to really control the downed state wars at mid through CC, revives and their tankiness. Bunkers often have skills that can knock enemies out of cap points, to make recapping easier. The Backpoint Defender is your close cap point holder that will often switch to running treb on Battle of Kyhlo. Mesmer or Ranger are often picks for Treb User. The Spirit Ranger is annoying to deal will in the small treb area. Roamers and Team Fighters a constantly moving to where they will have the most impact.

A Team Fighter Necromancer and Tanky Roaming Elementalist serve a drastically different role in team fights, but their choice of where to go might be very similar. The Team Fight Thief has solid damage and great mobility with shortbow making him ideal to go for NPC steals on Forest of Niflhel as well as backing up the Backpoint Defender and other teammates when needed.

Your Farpoint Assaulter is a mix of damage and survivability, they specialize in killing Backpoint Defenders, neutralizing cap points, and stalling a recap. Farpoint Assaulter can also end up roaming to other points quite often. Support is very similar to a Team Fighter but is more one the utility and defensive end, concentrating on giving Boons and extra healing to allies as well as many other utility tasks like removing conditions and providing cc and peels.

Make sure you consider what type of damage your comp does. A healthy meta will allow for a decent combination of team comps and counterplay, so again this is just an introduction to current roles. Hello my name is Dantes. I like to keep an up to date build page and share it with people. Here are a series of builds for every class that are up to date and viable in ranked matches.

gw2 spvp builds

I say ranked matches as you will see certain builds run tournaments on Twitch, which is a very different environment than ranked matches. This becomes less true at high ratings but by the time you stabilize at High Team or Solo Arenas you should have a good understanding of the metagame and how it works. Amulets also give you your full stats and you can no longer place jewels inside them.Structured PvP is a mode which allows competition on an even footing.

The attributesrunesand sigils from a character's PvE equipment are not used in structured PvP maps. Instead, equipment attributes are normalized, and players select a rune set, a sigil set, a PvP-specific amulet, and a set of specializations in the PvP Build panel. This build is maintained separately from the player's normal PvE or WvW build, and is automatically applied whenever a character enters the structured PvP lobby map. This mechanic allows players to be on an equal playing field with the same attributes, skills, and equipment options as other players.

Players need to equip chest, legs and foot armor to achieve the base armor value, but hands, shoulders and head may be ignored. Two teams are matched up against each other. In a standard match, the objective is to be the first team to reach points. Points are awarded through holding capture points, killing enemy players, or completing map-specific objectives.

There are at least 3 capture points on each map, and when captured, each location grants one point every two seconds. Each player kill grants five points. If neither team reaches points, the team with the most points will be declared the winner after the 15 minute time limit. Each map has unique secondary mechanics and objectives. Custom Arenasalso known as hot-joinuse a game selection system that allows players to join a game based on map and available space.

In this arena, players can join matches already in progress, so the number of active players can change over the course of the match as people join or leave.

The game tries to keep teams even by changing a player's team if the difference in numbers is two or more. Many server-created matches with generic match settings are available. Unranked and ranked arenas are more competitive game modes. Each arena consists of teams of 5 versus 5, and players can queue for a game while alone or while in a group. PvP Builds are locked after the match has started. All queued players are prompted to accept the match before it can start.

Once all 10 players are ready, a map will be selected through a vote-weighted random roll, and the match will begin. Ranked arenas require the account to reach PvP Rank 20 and above before participating.

Primary article: Automated Tournaments.

Guild Wars 2 Guides

Automated tournaments are organized 5v5 matches. They run on an automatic schedule and may be queued for 15 minutes before they begin. They utilize standard PvP maps and require a party of 5 to register. There are both daily and monthly tournaments, where the player must compete in several daily tournaments to qualify for a monthly one. A variety of high-value prizes may be won from placing in these tournaments. Dishonor is a system to prevent players from joining unranked and ranked arenas after player misconduct, such as leaving or not participating AFKing in matches.

Each instance of undesired behavior will immediately result in a timeout and increase the player's dishonor stat. Frequent misbehaving will result in increased duration of timeouts.
